The Coleman’s of Caseyville Lincoln County Mississippi.
The Cameron Of Franklin County Mississippi

My mother Ruby Cameron Coleman and father Ed B. Coleman families were both born in Mississippi. However, they met in Winnsboro Louisiana and married in April 1948.

My Coleman side of the family are descendants of Ex-slaves Cupit and Lucinda Coleman of Caseyville Lincoln County Mississippi. Cupit was born in 1811 and Luncinda 1816. Cupit and Lucinda birth approximatley 12 children.

My Cameron side of the family are descendants of Alex Cameron born 1862 and Ada Magee born in 1865 of Franklin county Mississippi they were married in 1886 for 14 years when she died in early 1900. Ada was the mother of my grandfather Bryant Cameron born in 1895, he was 5 years old when she died. Ada and Alex had 8 children.
Alex married Laura Byrd Jan 23 1909 in Lincoln County Mississippi and to that union 4 children were born.
I feel that I have a calling to find my ancestors. To somehow wake them up and have them live again, to tell each of their unique and different stories through oral history, the pages of census records, birth certificates, war records, and finally death certificates.

Genealogy or researching your family history is not just a cold gathering of facts; genealogy is a labor of love. A love of family and family beginnings, and family’s earthly accomplishments. I take pride in learning of my ancestor’s accomplishment, and pain from their losses and tragedies.
Each week, I will try to introduce you to my family and share tales and stories about them, it is a very large family spread out throughout the United States.
